Pushed For Time

Ok, the start of a new term is coming up this week and I have very little time. So I will just pose some questions and call this one an open post.

1. What do you think will be the outcome of the November elections?
2. Do retired generals have the right to speak out against Rumsfeld? What do you believe are their motives?
3. The White Sox and Astros have the best record in MLB. Do you think that both teams will make it back to the World Series?
4. What is your opinion of the Da Vinci Code?
5. Men, would you have left Jennifer for Joli?
6. Are gas prices having an impact on you?
7. There are always list of the best cities to live. What US city would you love to relocate to if given a chance?

I can't believe it. I am one of the first to get a response posted! Here they are.

    1. What do you think will be the outcome of the November elections?
The Republicans win because the Dems again will run one of the worst campaign you have ever seen.

    2. Do retired generals have the right to speak out against Rumsfeld? What do you believe are their motives?
Yes they do. We may not like it, but it is a free country and we have free speech, even disliked speech.

    3. The White Sox and Astros have the best record in MLB. Do you think that both teams will make it back to the World Series?
Don't get your hopes up James. Ain't gonna happen!

    4. What is your opinion of the Da Vinci Code?
Great fiction. I love his writing. Christians should get over this one.

    5. Men, would you have left Jennifer for Joli?
Nope. But they are both nuts.

    6. Are gas prices having an impact on you?
Of course they are. See my blog for a recent posting on this. http://adventurenotes.blogspot.com/2006/04/

    7. There are always list of the best cities to live. What US city would you love to relocate to if given a chance?
I love LA, but really? Perhaps Guadalajara, Mexico.
  2. Dave Miller Says:
Neo, you are probably right. If I was to write a novel on Islam, Hinduism, or whatever, and include some historical stuff, there'd probably be some upset folks.

But that is what historical novels are about. Based on "some" facts, that are then used to advance the story.

Just like movies "based on true" stories.

    Anyways, I hear ya!

I'd love to live in N.C. somewhere, except that the mosquitoes eat the bats; not the other way around.

Two Chistians comment, and neither is a believer in the White Sox - what the heck are they preaching about in church these days? LOL

Jon, I was thinking about NC as a place to live - but I may rethink that. I had issue with the bloodsuckers wanting to suck a pint of blood from me.

Neo, I live in SoCal now. The weather is great but the cost of living will suck you dry.

    1. What do you think will be the outcome of the November elections?

Someone will win, and half the country will be pissed off about it.

    2. Do retired generals have the right to speak out against Rumsfeld? What do you believe are their motives?

Sure. Retired generals are quite free to state their opinion. As for motive, I am sure it differs from person to person. There have also been generals defending Rummy. My guess would be it all depends on whether or not Rummy agreed with you or the other guy...

    3. The White Sox and Astros have the best record in MLB. Do you think that both teams will make it back to the World Series?

White Sox? Maybe. Astro? No. Their manager is too stupid to pull that off twice in a row.

    4. What is your opinion of the Da Vinci Code?

The book was not at all intellectually stimulating, and I felt my IQ lower a few points just for reading it. Thus, there should be no problems turning it into a movie for the masses.

    Tom Hanks' hair is ugly.

    5. Men, would you have left Jennifer for Joli?

Based solely on apperance? Yes. Based on personallity, I don't think so, but I don't personally know either of them, so it is hard to say.

    6. Are gas prices having an impact on you?

Yes, but not to a massive degree. I have a 40 mile commute (one way). OTOH, my car gets pretty good gas mileage, and my job pays enough to make it worth the drive...

I have enough padding in my budget to deal with this. Others don't. I feel for them (well, some of them, OTOH, I know a lot of people who should have padding in their budgets but don't because they were overspending to begin with).

    7. There are always list of the best cities to live. What US city would you love to relocate to if given a chance?

Of the ones that I have been to, Seattle, if I could afford it, but every report I have seen on it is that it is an overpriced market right now.

    1. It doesn't matter, we're screwed regardless.

    2. They do, but they are punks for not speaking out before they retired.

    3. MLB is the most unpredictable of the major America sports, bet on these two at your own risk.

    4. Haven't read it.

    5. Going just by looks... in a heartbeat.

    6. I walk to work and a motorcycle is my main method of transportation. It impacts everyone but I feel comfortable in saying that its impact on me is minimal.

    7. San Francisco... if I made about 200K a year.

    1. What do you think will be the outcome of the November elections?

Dems pick up some seats, but I don't know if it will be enough to tilt the balance

    2. They should sing like canaries. Too bad they were too yellow to say anything before now.

    3. The White Sox and Astros have the best record in MLB. Do you think that both teams will make it back to the World Series?

son. it's april. be easy. baseball doesn't even count until NFL pre-season.

    4. never read it. ain't sweatin it one way or the other.

    5. Men, would you have left Jennifer for Joli?

going strictly off looks? i'll put it like this... i might would tried to start a family with jennifer aniston, but i would be tryin'a start a race with angelina jolie.
  8. Dionne Says:
I'm not a man but I think Brad was an idiot to leave Aniston for Jolie.

I would love to move to any city in the west or the south.

It will not matter whether dems or repubs will the Novemeber election because the two parties thanks to bush are beoming very similar.

GAS PRICES ARE KILLING ME! If I had to relocate right now I'd prolly roll to Wyoming -- cheapest gas in the country!
  12. Bullfrog Says:
Both parties are hurting but I am hoping the Republicans will maintain control.

These Generals have the right to free speech, bottom line. I think their moties are biased and opinions based on "old school" thinking.

    Go Padres!!

The Da Vinci Code is what it is: Entertainment, nothing more.

Gas prices are causing me to travel les than I would like to, although I am blessed that my work is very close to home.

I live in the best city in the world: San Diego. I wouldn't change a thing, well maybe get these housing prices down out of the stratosphere.

    1. What do you think will be the outcome of the November elections?

It doesn't matter. We only have one party.

    2. Do retired generals have the right to speak out against Rumsfeld? What do you believe are their motives?

Yes they do. It's all about perception. If the Republicans appear to be cleaning up its party, it makes their image look better to the public.

    3. The White Sox and Astros have the best record in MLB. Do you think that both teams will make it back to the World Series?

Maybe the White Sox if you believe lightning can strike again at Comisky Park.

    4. What is your opinion of the Da Vinci Code?

This was an utter waste of my time. Christians shouldn't even give this book a first thought let alone a second thought.

    6. Are gas prices having an impact on you?

This is one time I wish I lived close enough to school to either walk or ride the bus.

    7. There are always list of the best cities to live. What US city would you love to relocate to if given a chance?

Chicago is the best City I think to live in. My second choice would be Washington DC
  14. James Manning Says:
    Bullfrog,

I lived in San Diego for three yeas and it soured me on California for ten years. Too small, too slow, couldn't get a six-piece with mild sauce to save my life.

Cynt, glad to hear I'm not the only one still using Comisky Park.
  15. Diane S. Says:
    1. What do you think will be the outcome of the November elections?

I'm inclined to agree with Cindy. However, if the Democrats are unable to seize this moment in history to change the balance in Congress, they should be gathered together and stoned for their stupidity.

    2. Do retired generals have the right to speak out against Rumsfeld? What do you believe are their motives?

Absolutely they have the right, and I believe their motives are to see the failed U.S. Strategy in Iraq changed to one which might actually work.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, military law prevents members of the military from commenting on an admiistration or it's policies until they are no longer in active duty - so I don't think these guys are pussies for not speaking up before now.

    3. The White Sox and Astros have the best record in MLB. Do you think that both teams will make it back to the World Series?

Sorry. I don't speak baseball. Go Spurs!

    4. What is your opinion of the Da Vinci Code?

That it hasn't been worth my time to read it, nor will it be worth my time or money to watch the movie.

    5. Do I think Brad Pitt should have left Jennifer Anniston for Angelina Jolie?

I think Jennifer Anniston is merely pretty and shows no signs of having a thought in her little head. Angelina Jolie is a little... uhm... unusual, but she's drop dead gorgeous, has depth, and if God asked me tonight who'd I'd like to wake up looking like tomorrow, her name would be the first one to come to mind.

    6. Are gas prices having an impact on you?

Yes. And I drive an average of less than 4,000 miles per year. I can only imagine how much it's hurting most people.

    7. There are always list of the best cities to live. What US city would you love to relocate to if given a chance?

Most of the really great cities are really expensive cities. If I could afford it, I'd love to live in San Francisco, Key West, Portland, or Austin. Can't afford any of them. I live in the closest thing to paradise I can afford - a small tourist town in the Texas Hill Country.
