Quick Take on the News

Good bye Lou: Lou Rawls passed today of cancer. The man has been around for a long time. My grandmother wasn't much on "the devil's music" but she wouldn't complain much when my uncle threw on Sam Cook, Curtis Mayfield, Stevie Wonder or Lou Rawls. She especially enjoy "Dead End Street Monologue"Of course everyone knows his classic, "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine". I'm sure the city of Chicago will do something very special for him.

Pat Robertson Opens His Mouth Again: Why does this man get so much news press? He is an idiot and a fraud. But, he does provide great quotes to discuss on slow news days. So here is the most recent idiotic quote from the idiot:

NORFOLK, Va. - Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson has suggested that Israeli
Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine punishment for "dividing God's
land."

"God considers this land to be his," Robertson said Thursday on his TV program "The 700 Club."

"You read the Bible and he says `This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, `No, this is mine.' "

Damn, I might just have to come up with a new section just to assemble the many dumb things that have come from this man's mouth.

Mine Received 16 Citations Last Year: I'm not sure if any of these violations caused the accident in the West Virginia coal mine. But you can rest assure that the government is going to come down hard on them anyway. The own might as well prepare himself to lose a lot of money. On an even sadder note, I read in the paper one of the notes that a man left to his family: "Tell all I see them on the other side." He then goes on to write, "It wasn't bad. I just went to sleep. - JR." This not was written by Martin Toler Jr.

That's pretty heartbreaking.

Pat Roberts is insane... He needs to keep his mouth closed.

Pat Robertson doesn't speak for like 95% of Evangelicals so don't lump us in with him. He is losing it and needs to retire.

James: what site do you get those cartoon pictures from that you use for your icon picture?

James, Ms. Chatterbox is right! Pat Robertson needs to retire. He has made a total ass out of himself and gives evangelicals a bad name. Miss Chatterbox we know that not all evangelicals think like that; but he ain't representing well. He has acted most UnChristian like this past year! And Sharon, imho really tried to appease the Palestenians and thought that would produce peace. I don't know why Mr. Robertson said something so freakin' hateful! But it is best to pray for Mr. Sharon, rather than castigate him. One thing that is REALLY starting to bother me is the polarization some of these yahoos cause! If you don't agree with them or if you see things from another lens, you aren't American or Christian enough and that is lame! We should work together and stop this mess. Sorry for ranting good post James!

Lou Rawls will be missed. He was a gift from God.

I just think Pat Robertson is echoing what's in the bible... According to the bible, the Jews are God's people and God gave them the land. If you believe this, then Pat Robertson is correct in what he said.
